Senior Scientist with doctorate/PhD

Level of employment: 100 % (40 hours/week)
Salary: € 69,060.60 per annum (gross); classification according to collective agreement: B1 lit. b
Limited to: max. 20 months

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Participation in research and teaching activities of the department
  • Independent research and publications
  • Participation in organisational and administrative matters relating to the department
  • Participation in public relations activities of the Faculty of Technical Science

Required qualifications:

  • Doctoral/PhD degree from a higher education institution in computer science or a related field. This requirement has an extended deadline and must be fulfilled by  November 30, 2025  at the latest
  • Proven interest and experience in the field of Information Systems Engineering, in particular in one of the following areas: business process management, conceptual modeling, temporal representation and reasoning, information systems for medical research
  • Scientific publications in excellent journals or conferences
  • Very good knowledge of spoken and written English

Additional desired qualifications:

  • Teaching experience, didactic competence,communication skills
  • Good knowledge of German
  • Social skills in diversity and equality issues

The Information and Communication Systems Research Group researches and teaches theoretical and practical knowledge and skills needed to design, model, implement, and evaluate advanced information systems. In particular, the group has a proven track record for research in business process management, conceptual modeling, temporal representation and reasoning, interoperability, and information systems for medical research. We work in a committed, collegial, and international team at the University of Klagenfurt and cooperate with national and international partners from science and industry.

The employment contract is concluded with a salary of € 4,932.90 gross per month (14 times a year; previous experience deemed relevant to the job can be recognised in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement).
